Salzburg is one of the most stunning places in Europe. Salzburg´s Marble Hall in Mirabell Palace is known as the world's most beautiful wedding hall for civil ceremonies. Thousands of couples from around the world have enjoyed this romantic wedding destination. Mirabell Palace in Mozart's city could be the perfect location for your very special day, too. The city of Salzburg and the Marmorsaal (Marble Hall) combine history and culture with the wonderful Salzburg cityscape. The Marble Hall, baroque staircase, the Mirabell Gardens, the Pegasus Fountain and Hohensalzburg Fortress will be the perfect backdrop for your wedding pictures.
Arrival by plane
Salzburg's W.A. Mozart Airport is two miles from the city center. Public buses between the airport and Salzburg's main railway station leave at ten-minute intervals; the trip takes about 20 minutes.
Winter wedding
Salzburg is also wonderful at Christmas with traditional Christmas markets and festive lighting all over the city. And the city of Salzburg is only half an hour away from many famous skiing regions.
The wedding ceremony takes 20 minutes. Please refer to the wedding calendar for available times and dates.
The registrars will do their best to make the ceremony as festive and personal as possible. To make sure your wedding runs smoothly, please contact the registry office in advance to select the music for your ceremony.
You will be issued an international marriage certificate.
Language of the ceremony. There are 3 possibilties:
1) Your wedding ceremony will be conducted in German and translated into English.
2) If bride and groom and the witnesses (two witnesses are required under Austrian law) are native speakers (english), the registrar will conduct the ceremony in english if desired. In this case no interpreter will be necessary.
3) If bride and groom and the witnesses (two witnesses are required under Austrian law) speak and understand German perfectly, the ceremony will be conducted in German and no interpreter will be necessary.
There can be a maximum of 120 wedding guests (25 can be seated). To comply with all of the formalities, please come to the registration office (room 109) 20 minutes before the wedding is scheduled to take place.
