Artist Statement:

” During my residency period in Salzburg I am aiming at my future exhibition which will be opened at the beginning of November this year.

I have an idea to find the main part of the subjects from the sensual but at the same time humoristic world of burlesque shows. I have earlier made a couple of sculptures related to this basic idea, but now I have a vision to make more active figures, exaggerating the gestures and forms of the female bodies. Maybe as a contrast to these female forms I can add a couple of masculine figures. These would be oldfashioned wrestlers showing their trained muscels, maybe posing with all their medals, like in old photos.

The residency period will give me possibilities to concentrate on my project for some weeks without any daily routines. I am sure that the beautiful surroundings, museums and cultural atmosphere of Salzburg can encourage my creativity.”
